How to View a Discography and Revision History - wes montgomery

The discography was compiled chronologically by synthesizing data from Jazz Records 1942-68:Jorgen G.Jepsen, Modern Jazz Discography:Walter Bruyn-inckx, The Clef/Verve Labels: Michel Ruppli, and other sources. Discographies, liner notes, and other data were compiled in chronological order.
The record numbers prioritize the original editions of the albums.
For recordings by Lionel Hampton’s band from 1949-1950, the earliest LP releases or comprehensive compilations typically feature specific record numbers, particularly from Decca Records.
Many alternate takes from 1959 to 1968 have been included in both LP and CD releases, often with the earliest record numbers noted.
Private tapes where their existence has been confirmed are listed.
The explanations in parentheses following the title indicate additional details such as alternate takes or special notes. “(take 2/4)” denotes a compilation edited from parts of takes 2 and 4. “(re-edited)” indicates that it was reassembled from the original tape without alterations.
The alphabet inside parentheses within the chord number indicates the country of release.
Titles struck through indicate corrections made to titles that were incorrectly labeled or deliberately changed despite knowing the mistake.
